Topics in: Network Tomography and Peer-to-Peer Systems
Title
The Internet Research Group at Institut Eurecom, Sophia Antipolis, France ( http://www.eurecom.fr/~btroup/) proposes several Masters Thesis (Diplomarbeiten) in the area of network tomography and peer-to-peer systems.

The topics in network tomography focus on
  • the design of tools for analysis of TCP and Http
  • the analysis of peer-to-peer applications such as e-Donkey

The topics in peer-to-peer systems focus on
  • the design of a peer-to-peer back-up system

Interested students should have a solid background in computer networks and distributed systems and good programming skills in C or JAVA.

The InternEt Research Group has a long tradition of hosting German students for their Diplomarbeit (see http://www.eurecom.fr/~btroup/BThesis/bib.html). The Diplomarbeit can start any time in the first half of 2006. Interested students are asked to contact Prof Biersack via e-mail (erbi@eurecom.fr).
