Florian Winkler received his Diploma in Computer Science
and Engineering from the University of Mannheim, Germany, in
2003. In April 2004, he joined NEC Network Laboratories in
Heidelberg as a software engineer. Currently he is working as a
research staff member in the field of future multimedia and
telecommunication networks. His interests and experiences
comprise web services, Java Enterprise technologies, pattern
recognition and digital image processing. Since July 2006,
under supervision of Prof. Effelsberg, he is pursuing his PhD
with the Lehrstuhl für Praktische Informatik IV, University of
Mannheim, in the area of digital video content analysis.
