From 1994 to 1999 I studied Wirtschaftsinformatik (a
combination of computer science and business administration) at
the University of Mannheim. My studies were supported by a
scholarship of the Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes (German
National Merit Foundation).
In 1999 and 2000 I worked for the AT&T Center for
Internet Research (ACIRI) at the International Computer Science
Institute (ICSI), Berkeley. During that time I wrote my diploma
thesis on "Equation-Based Congestion Control". After completing
the thesis, I participated in a joint project of ICSI and
DaimlerChrysler Research, Palo Alto, on simulations for mobile
communication.
From May 2000 to June 2003 I was working as a
"wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter" at the department of computer
science and mathematics at the University of Mannheim. I received
my PhD degree in May 2003.
From Juli 2003 on, I'll be working as a postdoc at
EPFL.
