After the completion of a professional education as
electronic technician in 1996, I studied communication
engineering at the University of Applied Sciences in Cologne,
focusing on information technology. I received the Diploma in
2000, with the thesis on 'Fast Handovers in Mobile IP' written at
NEC Europe, Heidelberg. In September 2000 I joined the Mobile
Internet Group of the NEC Network Laboratories in Heidelberg,
focusing on micro-mobility management issues in Mobile IPv6,
whithin the European IST project Moby Dick. Since April 2002, I
started towards a PhD in co-operation between NEC and Lehrstuhl
für Praktische Informatik IV, University of Mannheim, under
supervision of Prof. Effelsberg, in the area of wireless multihop
ad hoc networks.
